I've been running on and off for 30 years, with many track meets and road races under my belt. Dabbled in half and full marathons about 20 years ago. After a broken tibia, I took up swimming and have been swimming, never competitively, on and off for the last 20 years. Difficult to say what distance I will focus on since my first triathlon is still a couple weeks off. I tend to be more competitive as distances get longer - at least running, so we'll see where this goes.
Cycling was the last piece and have been training for a couple of months now. My goal for this first triathlon is to just finish and to stay out of my head and not get caught up in the competitition. I know that's easier said than done for me. Just hope I can keep that in mind during the race. I'm interested to see what it is like to string these 3 legs together. All for now. Over and out.
