36 Week Ironman Training Program

Source: Editor

Mike Llerandi, formerly of the SuperCoach Network, is a top age group triathlete and has competed in the Kona World Championships seven times. His first Ironman was Ironman Canada in 1988, where he placed 15th overall. This last October, Mike finished the Ironman World Championship race in 10:00:02, placing 4th in his age group.

A few years ago Mike formed the SuperCoach Network which provided coaching services and training programs for triathletes. The Network is no longer around, but the training plans have taken on a life of their own and continue to float around in cyberspace. This is where we came across it. After tracking down Mike and getting his permission, we are now publishing the Ironman training plan in it's original form for our trifuel readers.

The 36 week plan is broken down into four main groups of workouts; Orientation, Pre-Season, Competitive Season, and Taper Period. The program comes complete with an extensive FAQ, Weekly Schedule Outline, and Weekly/Daily Workout Sessions.
