On Survival and Evolution of the Species

by Tracy Korn on June 29th, 2007
Today I want to make a statement about the endurance lifestyle, because quite frankly, I think a lot of people are in dan

Coming Down from High Cliff

by Tracy Korn on June 27th, 2007
At first I thought it was because I had little experience. So I got more. Then I thought it was because I needed to lose weight. So I lost it. Then I thought, maybe I needed to train harder, so, harder I trained. And now, having exhausted all other possible explanations, I am forced to consider that perhaps I'm just inadvertently attracting obstacles by fearing they'll appear.

Remember when we knew nothing about heart rate training, cadence, lactate threshold and such nonsense? When going for a bike ride meant going out on a bike and riding and feeling good about it? Do you remember those days? Well I don't.

by Tracy Korn on June 15th, 2007
When I was five my mother had very long, dark hair; down to her waist. She always wore it in a bun during the day to keep it out of her way, but as she ran along side me telling me that when I got the most scared I should just keep pedaling, a few strands came loose and blew behind her.

by Tracy Korn on May 11th, 2007
Race Morning. The day was supposed to be hotter, but with less wind than they'd had for the long course race the day before. I figured that was a fair trade as I looked out over the lake while wrapping up in a blanket, not quite awake yet but definitely no longer asleep.

Kansas

by Tracy Korn on April 26th, 2007
This morning it was storming like somebody had better be building an arc. I think it was around 2:00 a.m. when I heard the thunder, and had a hard time getting back to sleep after that - not because it was such a torrential storm

Little Bitta Boom Boom

by Joseph Vinciquerra on April 13th, 2007
That’s right. Stretch the arms up overhead, arch the back, and let out a little groan like you’re working out the kinks before a tough day of training. Blow the cobwebs off the big gears, lace up the trainers, and start the engine idling.
