IM - travel
by TonisTri on November 11th, 2009
How many days before your IM should you plan to arrive? Assume travel to the same time zone. Is there more than one day worth of stuff you need to do...packet pick-up, transition prep, etc...

Bike Transport
by Amish on April 5th, 2009
Hi everyone, I am working in france for the summer, but I need to transport my bike from Boston to France in order to train for Timberman in August--> do you have any suggestions about transporting the bike? I hear it gets kind of expensive, and I don't know too much about assembling the bike back together...will the fit get messed up? Is there a cheap or easier way?
Fast Food / Traveling Professional
by orangedog on March 29th, 2009
In traveling, I'm often in a position where my options are limited to fast food. I read a great tip about creating a wallet reference card with the best food options (that you like) at each restaurant you face - this way, you know what you are eating and don't have to make decisions based on heuristics.

Tri's and Traveling
by jnrice on September 23rd, 2008
How far do you guys/girls travel for a race? How often, etc. I'm trapped in an area with very few races (in my opinion). The nearest 1/2 IM is about 300 miles away and the nearest IM is about 400 which isn't that bad but there are also only about a half dozen Oly's in the area as well. It doesn't give much choice in which races you want to do. Am I just being overly sensitive?
Any Brits on here?
by WillbIM1Day on August 20th, 2008
Hey y'all,
I'm going to be in England for the next 10 days (mostly London), and I was wondering if anybody knew of any solid bike shops in town? I am hoping to rent a decent road bike and do at least a half century one day, outside the city.
I've googled a ton of them, but obviously it's impossible to differentiate a good LBS from a bad LBS online.
Thanks!

Help: Ideas on training while traveling
by Carlos Mx on June 28th, 2008
I am currently training for a HIM in September. I usually do three workouts per sport every week plus the occasional brick.
I must travel on business for a week at a time to a place where I can only run. Should I forget about swimming and riding and try to improve my running? I can't lose the idea that I will lose all my fitness for everything else.
Any ideas?
Jet Lag or Jet Ahead
by EnduranceCoach.com on February 27th, 2008
Jet Lag, it's a term we hear a lot, but what exactly is it and how can travelers limit the impact that it's going to have once they have arrived at their new location? Here I will explain some of the strategies that the modern traveler can use to help limit the impact and jet ahead.
Denali Park Training???
by actorRunning on January 24th, 2008
Does anyone have any insight into pools in the Denali Park location in Alaska? I'm taking a job there for the season (May - September), but don't want to quit swimming. I'm rather excited to be able to run and bike in the area, but as it's rather remote, I'm having a tough time finding an adequate place to swim.
