Training

Anyone going to be in or near Cape May, NJ in the beginning of August?

by cjhoffmn on July 5th, 2008
The family and I are going to be in Cape May, NJ in the beginning of August for a vacation. Anyone else going to be somewhat near there for some training rides/runs/swims? We took the same vacation there last year and the area's really great. Would love to hook up with some other trifuelers for some training.

Help: Ideas on training while traveling

by Carlos Mx on June 28th, 2008
I am currently training for a HIM in September. I usually do three workouts per sport every week plus the occasional brick. I must travel on business for a week at a time to a place where I can only run. Should I forget about swimming and riding and try to improve my running? I can't lose the idea that I will lose all my fitness for everything else. Any ideas?

Sleep... Wonderful, Amazing, Restful Sleep

by StephenPDennis on June 25th, 2008
I have read a few people touch on this already, but how much sleep is everyone getting? Do you augment your sleep depending on the type of training you do? SPD WWW.SDTRIBUDDHA.BLOGSPOT.COM

Would you consider doing this?

by Triathica on June 24th, 2008
Hey everybody. Just wanted to run an idea by you and see what you think. A few of us here in Orange County, CA are very excited and are preparing to open a gym called Triathica that is strictly dedicated to the sport of triathlon.

Biking training rides

by cutiger95 on June 19th, 2008
Alright so I have biked for a long time, but never really trained to bike. What type of targets should I be setting for myself. Currently I am hitting the following on my training rides: Shorter than 10 miles: Average about 17.5 - 19.5 mph (Depends on if wifey is tagging along, 17.5 with and 19.5 without) Rides 10 - 20 miles: Average of around 17 - 18

366

by beads1985 on June 5th, 2008
366 days this year, because this is a leap year. Last December we had a post about trying to run every day for a month. When the month was winding down I was looking to challenge myself on a bigger scale. 'Nothing to it, but to do it!'

How fast when you're training?

by cjhoffmn on May 19th, 2008
I've recently been experiencing much better swims. I feel like I'm actually making progress on the position and I'm able to swim much longer and faster than even just a few weeks ago.

myER Entry 09

It's been a while since I made a post about this, not sure if its of interest anymore, but here goes just because: I've been seriously trying to learn how to use the Evolution Running style for the last 9 months or so. I think I've had some success in putting it all together, and seem to be making good progress now.

Power on Trainer Vs the Road

by cjhoffmn on April 28th, 2008
I've been riding almost exclusively on my Trainer since January and added a PowerTap in March. I've been dutifully collecting and analyzing my data since I added the PT and can certainly see how helpful its going to be in changing my workouts.

Training Build up

by cjhoffmn on April 18th, 2008
I just began my 16 week build up to my A race in July. I took a 1 week layoff between base training and starting this to really recover nicely. So far so good, except, well, I'm a little bored with the beginning of my 16 week plan. It starts with 3 weeks of "build-up" period that has be doing essentially very short workouts to build up to relatively longer workouts.
