by Amish on October 27th, 2008
Hey everyone, I ran a Half-Marathon last weekend, and the inside of my knee (I believe it is the MCL) has been hurting since the morning of the race (didn't hurt while running, only before) and has still been hurting for the past week. I've been icing it whenever I can which isn't too often, but I also want to start training.

Offseason Base Training

by Workerant47 on October 15th, 2008
I'm ending my first season and going into the offseason looking to get stronger and maintain my base, if not slightly improve. When I go out and run or bike I'm working hard to push myself some days and take it easy other days. Would it be wrong to switch back and forth between sprints and easier sessions?

Muscle soreness and HEADACHES!

by bikewiththeson on October 14th, 2008
I'm new to the tri/cycling world, but I'm not new to muscle soreness and headaches. I power-lift to minimize soreness from strength training, but cannot beat inflammation. Anyone have any diet/nutrition tips for fighting inflammation? I get TONS of antioxidants and alkaline water and eat 90% organic diet. Are there certain vegetables that promote inflammation? Fight inflammation?

Bike Training with a Fixed Gear

by oswa0060 on October 8th, 2008
I have been away from triathlons for quite some time but I am looking at making a comeback. Over the past few years I have been spending my time getting through school and logging a few hundred miles a week on a fixed gear bike. What are all of your thoughts on using a fixed gear as a training aid for triathlons? My Ironman Journey: http://onefortypointsix.wordpress.com/ -Nick

VO2 What?

by badgnus on October 6th, 2008
In the world of endurance, it seems that you cannot discuss fitness without discussing VO2 max. Ask any endurance athlete about it and you will hear epic stories with names like Indurain, LeMond, and Armstrong. Many of you however, may find yourselves wondering what exactly VO2 max is and why is it so important.
