So let me start off by saying that I have been racing for a while. I never really have actually followed any type of training plan though and now that I am starting to get faster I think I need to structure my training better. I am starting to structure it around running because that is my weakest of all three sports.
How much can someone really improve?

IM training in aerobars?

Hello everyone,
How much of one's cycling IM training time should be spent in the aerobars vs upright on the bull-horn bars? Does this vary by workout type (intervals vs long rides, etc)? How much of my training time should be on my racing tri bike vs my winter fixie? These questions have always perplexed me. Thoughts?
My First HIM: Training Question

Right now I'm in my third week of the program and I've got this nagging feeling that I should be doing more, make that, some core training. Quickly, I ride 3 times a week (one bike-run brick), swim twice a week, and run 2-3 times a week.
Triathlete training for Half Ironman, 1 month down & 2 months to go.

I know that I saw FireTri mention doing Crossfit in the thread about workout routines. Is any one else here regularly doing a Crossfit routine, either at a gym or at home??

I'm new to all the triathlon training since I just started training last month.
I'm trying to make a weekly training schedule/plan, and I was just curious what other triathlete are doing.
I saw the video about how triathlete trains. He basically wakes up like 4:30 in a morning, go ocean swim, and bike, then weight training, then swim at the pool.
Alcohol and training

In advance i apologize but im asking for a response from people who drink hard and do triathlons at a competitive level. I am currently 17 (dont tell on me) and i drink alot (3-4 beers) every once in a while due to peer pressure. do you advise any techniques do to prevent the urge/ the neccesity to drink alcohol? i have a great group of friends yet they still convince me to drink....any ideas?

I've been a swimmer and runner for most of my life so I really enjoy both training and racing in those events. When I started doing tri's I would get out of the water at the head of the pack, get passed on the bike, then make up ground on the run. I have improved some just through being on the bike, but how can I really make some improvements over the winter?
