How to proceed?

by prendergi on August 31st, 2009
Yesterday I was out for my long run. I had just under two miles to go until I was done and I rolled my ankle. This isn't the first time I have done it but this is the first time I have done it when training for a marathon. My schedule looks like this for the next three weeks including this week (obviously this week is a no go, I will be tending to my ankle): "The pain of discipline is far less than the pain of regret" - Sarah Bombell

Maintaining running fitness while injury heals ?

by Carlos Mx on July 15th, 2009
I was injured with a stress fracture in my right foot four weeks ago. My doctor says that I can't run for at least 4 weeks more. I am training for a Half IM in September and a full in November. I was running 40-50 k per week before the injury.

#1 thing you do to stay injury free

by vistring on January 26th, 2009
One of major goals this upcoming season is to be injury free. I was wondering what all Trifuelers did that they thought was best thing they do to stay free of injury?

Twisted Ankle...Now what?

by Donnermann on January 12th, 2009
After building a good base for the past couple months, I slip on the ice and have a pretty severe twisted ankle. What can I do while I am off of it? The doctor told me to stay off of it for 2 weeks. What can I do to stay fit and keep working toward races this season? Thanks!

Back of knee pain - bursitis, I am told

by sanchors on November 4th, 2008
Persistent pain in the back of my knees, especially when running up hill, sprints, and spinning (focusing on pulling). Has anyone had this problem? What did you do to fix it? I have tried - time off from training, physical therapy - astym and others, and a cortisone shot (which worked the best but has not solved the problem).

Recovery and injury prevention

by Amish on October 27th, 2008
Hey everyone, I ran a Half-Marathon last weekend, and the inside of my knee (I believe it is the MCL) has been hurting since the morning of the race (didn't hurt while running, only before) and has still been hurting for the past week. I've been icing it whenever I can which isn't too often, but I also want to start training.

Hip Pain?

by packtrisam on June 27th, 2008
Over the past month, I've crashed on my bike a couple of times. However, after the first crash, I've been noticing some muscle pain in my right hip/glute, which I fell on. I used to have similar pain after long runs (18+ miles), but it would only show up at the end of the run. Now the pain occurs within 200 yards of beginning to run, and is continuous throughout. Recovery from Surgery... any advice?

by StephenPDennis on June 4th, 2008
Ahhh! Like an absolute fool I had to go and injure myself this past weekend. After a day or two of living with it, it now looks like I may even have to get corrective surgery and of course my first question to the surgeon was "But doctor... can I run?" SPD WWW.SDTRIBUDDHA.BLOGSPOT.COM
