First Blog Ever
I've been debating starting a blog, and now that TriFuel has the option, it ended the debate. Mostly I want to keep track of how my training is going with more than charts and milage logs.
Last week I traveled with my family, and my intention was to return on Saturday night so I would be able to make the race on Sunday. We ended up staying until Sunday afternoon, so my taper week ended in swinging a golf club about 120 times. The good news that that I was well rested for my Yasso 800's on Monday.
This is the week that I leave for my new job in Florida. I knew it was coming, but I still haven't adjusted my schedule. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it back to Ohio for 1 or 2 more triathlons or not. There's 3 more olympic distance races that are paid for, but the logistics of getting time off work and traveling are going to make it difficult. Plus I'll be taking my bicycle to FL with me, and when I do come back to Ohio, I would like to fly to Ohio, and then take my motorcycle back to Florida with me. That will make it difficult to use my bicycle in a triathlon.
So, if I'm not going to do the triathlons, what should I be training for? I've had very little luck finding triathlons close to Pensacola. The good news is that there is a triathlon club. Maybe they will point out some races that I overlooked. Plus I'm looking forward to finding some training partners. There is a marathon on Feb 15th, but it's not exactly ideal. I'd love to qualify for Boston, but the Pensacola marathon is so small, in 2008, only 6 people ran below a 3:10, which is what I need to qualify. With my only other marathon being a 3:32:00, I'm going to need a lot of help to qualify for Boston.
Cool Scott. I look forward to reading about your endurance and triathlon stuff. Good luck with the job.
