So i threw down for some nice aero wheels and i took them on a spin the other week and i loved them much more than my training wheels. I'm interested how often everyone rides their race wheels vs. their training wheels?

Congrats on the new wheels. You'll be excited to see how much faster you go in your next race! I pretty much just ride my racing wheels when I race and my training wheels when I train. Aero wheels are too expensive to worry about messing up when you're just out riding.

I'll ride my race wheels once before a race, make sure they are ok, epecially if changing the cassette. Also might try them out in different wind conditions on different training routes.

Once or twice leading up to a race. They are so different from the wheels I train on I need a ride or two to get used to the bike's handling with the lighter wheels.

I think this is a good question.
They look so hot, but maybe it is like having a christmas tree up all year.

Use them for a bit before races...would love to ride them all the time but they were $$$$ (Bontrager XXX Lite) and replacing them would..well..require $$$$ !

Agree with the above. Use them once or twice before a race just to get used to them again and make sure they, and the tubes/tire are all dialed in, and then on race day. My race wheels probably get ridden 10 times a year or so - not cheap, but saves me in rentals and at least I know the history of the wheels.
