Good luck to all those racing!
Oddly I got a call from my girlfriend's dad yesterday complaining about "this race thing this weekend with swimming and biking, some kind of Ironman or something" whose course just happens to be the way he needs to get to work in Clearwater in the afternoon. :-D
Good luck everybody. I wish you all the best.
Good luck everyone! Catch a good draft! ;) (Anyone remember last year?)

Very nice job Noel - 4:30:45 :)
I don't know how anyone else has done.... so let us know how your day was!

I heard someone put carpet tacks on the bike course and caused a bunch of flats! I also hear that there were like 20 people that went to the hospital for crashes (not sure if the two are related).

It was a great race to be at, and awesome to hang out with Star (Andrea), Noel and Anouk!
Stuart was basically happy with his performance in his second ever HIM -- marred only by the fact that he lost his wedding ring in T1. So, earning the finisher's medal was a sad trade that took away a little of his enjoyment of the day.
Noel was on a mission, and just looked strong and in control the whole day.
Yes, the tack story is true and pathetic. Luckily, it apparently happened in the later stages of the bike race so I only heard of a few people who ran into problems. But it was appalling nonetheless.
Great event. Rule of thumb for future spectators -- wear sunscreen if you plan on hanging out in the Florida sun for hours and hours on race day. I brought home a lovely sunburned face from the race. oops.

Good Luck Noel, Stuart and Sandman's wife! Tomorrow is going to be a great day for a championship race. My husband and I met up with Noel and his girlfriend (traveling all the way from The Netherlands!) and Tamara (who's husband Stuart is racing) last night, and everyone seems ready to rock! I can't wait to watch and cheer everyone through the finish line. Give 'em heck, Trifuelers :D
