Welcome, fellow lower mainlander.
I've not done the Desert Half but BBB who will likely chime in sometime has done it twice and can give you some ideas of what to expect. See you on the roads riding or running.
Nice weather today eh!
It is nice to have another canuck on board!
Look forward to chatting with you.
Welcome back to tri's!

Yes I love the lower mainland weather in the late Fall and Winter, it's very "cosy" having all that water join me on every outdoor trip....I'm from OZ originally so speak a little funny, been here 4 + years now but normally take 2-3 weeks in Winter to go back to Oz to the beach for a dose of sunshine - I'm already looking forward to running on the beach in 25 degrees sunshine in 6 weeks!! But when it comes to those sunny days Vancouver beats pretty much everywhere hands down....:)
Hey welcome to the club. Ya, if yas got any Q's about Desert Half shoot. I will likely do it again this year. See ya at Iona! If it keeps raining like it has for the last few days we'll likely be swimming to the end of the road!

Hi all,
Just introducing myself from Vancouver, BC. Dabbled in tri many years ago at uni but got distracted by other sports...but now I'm back giving tri a real whirl, aiming for the Desert half ironman in July 08. My friend Jenny inspired me - when I last saw her in Oz 4 years ago she wasn't huge into sports - now she's off to do the NZ IM in March - awesome!
Cheers - love the site
