Postpartum after HIM
Oh yeah par for the course! I think it's very similar to the way i get the day after Christmas!lol
Yup a hard run always helps me also or doing a local 5k to help improve my speed! I will start marathon training also! Good job shooing that black cloud away!:^)
Use the search feature and type in the word "depressed." You'll find you are not alone. Any big event in life that requires tons of hard work, preparation, excitement, money, and has a specific end-point can lead to the blues the day(s) after. It will go away. Having a new goal to work towards will help.
That which does not kill me makes me faster...
yup, been there after the end of each season, so I come up with crazy wkouts and fun goals for the off season and next season

Totally there after IMC this year. In fact, I didn't do anything for a month. I still can't stand pavement, so I've taken to the mud to put the fun back into the workouts. The pool is almost appealing now :-)
postpartum means - after delivery. as in postpartum depression. depression after delivery.
i suppose delivering a baby may be on par as a half ironman for some.
But i know what you mean, i think its pretty common to get depressed "the blues" after a big event.
all your endorphins are spent and maybe you feel down aftewards.
or maybe you didnt hit your goal and feel bad about that.
I think thats why alot of people have like 10 different goals.
1) to finish
2) to have fun
3) break 6 hours
4) break 7 hours
5) break 8 hours
either way you're covered, well unless you don't finish it.

Anybody ever get seriously blue after an A race and/or season? About 48 hours after the Longhorn HIM last weekend with a few swims during the week to loosen up, a huge black cloud seemed to take over my emotions and didn't finally leave until I hollered out the door this morning "off to start Houston Marathon training".
Ran hard and feel fine now.
