WDYDT 10/09/2009?
Ran to the gym for the first time since March.
I stopped for a moment to stare at the heavy weights...and then proceeded to pick up the small ones.
Was tempted to jump off the bench when I realized that months of IM training turned me into a girly-man.
I was wearing my IMC shirt so at least the big dudes knew I could out swim/bike/run them.

Bravo, Zagger!

not a damn thing.
well, being easy on the legs for my first 70.3 on Sunday, so I really didn't do anything today.
zag- though I wasn't immersed in an IM training program I know what you mean about the heavy stuff. haha
i dont know what today will bring to me, but thats just fine.
Of course, I ran back to work, gyms only a mile away.
And your picture makes me miss Canada, I think I'm building a vacation home in the Okanagan Valley, as soon as I hit the lottery.

Slept in this morning in an attempt to fight off whatever the kids have.
Hopefully I will leave work soon and get a run in tonight ;-)

What time zone are you in?
It's 4:30pm on the wet coast.
That makes it 7:30pm in the East.

Ask me again On Sunday...
By the way...I love this thread. This was common, almost every weekend back in Trifuels early days...

Yeah, until people started getting/posting blogs.
(Anyway, I was bored and nothing else was happening.)
Damned if I have the time/wits to look up everybody's blog to see if they a) did anything or b) actually typed up the blog entry.
I read Libor's just to see what I SHOULD be doing! heh.
Sorry to hear about your neck/foot issues. Get well soon.

hobbled in from the parking garage on my crutches and repeated going home. No, did not park in a handicap spot and actually walked up the ramp. 5 more weeks :( From my recent research (googled microfracture knee) I see I have 4-8 months before I can really run again. I sort of feel jipped but maybe I was told and just chose to ignore it. Guess thats why the dr suggested I not sign up for IMC next year.
HAHA i have done nothing today missed my morning swim due to throat infection...

Woke up at 4am, ran 6 mi. then spin class, got the kids off to school, cooked soup. Did a 50 mi bikeride in the pouring rain, scarfed down lunch, picked up my son, dropped off 4 HUGE trash bags full of big clothes to goodwill, got my 6 mo cleaning at the dentist, went to the brew shop to get malto, picked up my 3 girls, took them to swim team, came home, gave son a bath, cooked dinner, picked up girls, bathed kids, helped them with hmwk, watched Wipeout as a family and her I sit. Next is abs, and bed (good thing hubby is out of town ;)

So what do you do in your spare time?

POC - You and I are on the same wavelength... I was thinking about posting a WDYDT thread TODAY during my run. How funny!
Anyway all my tri-related activities:
1500 meters in the pool (drills, and a 1000 sprint)
Day 'B' on the weights
4 mile road run (ran by the filming of a new Ben Affleck movie in Charlestown).
Huge Core Set
Also took apart my bike and put it back together again.
Jeff
swim, wts, run, abs, gettin' dirty, yeah, we're on the same wavelength.
;)

ps. good work there.

Aaahhhhh......fall weather is here. 5.5 blissful run at 4pm in 68 degrees. Tried to catch and assault passing cyclist but he got away. Got a new tattoo.

i can't even fathom what 68 feels like. We've been in the 90s and its been a nice break from the 100+ days (we had like 52 straight or something ridiculous like that).
Beer, Steelers/Titans, all good.
garen, 4 miles / abs.. good. wait.. I'm sensing a pattern here.
run, attempted assault, by tattooed chica.. hey, you Swedish?
& where's the pic of the tat?
nice to hear from all of you. I have an AGM at the theatre to attend, I'm on the executive, in about 20 mnutes, so I have to book.

40 minutes swim. no count, no drills just swim. No wonder I don't get any better. Approching to Big Kahuna half and like always my sw is the main concern
Woke up late, went/rode to friends sandwich/coffee business and talked to all the pretty women buying their lunch as I sat drinking coffee.
Rode to Aquatic center/gym. Swam in pool 100 meters without stopping (Huge for me)
Abs, 40 minutes Elliptical, Abs round two, 30 minutes stairclimber, abs round three
Rode to class
Ate lunch friends packed for me (Why I went there really, talking to pretty women is a side perk) while waiting for class to start.
Sat in class thinking about new bike-Orbea babe!!!, rode home on touring/commuter bike thinking about this weekends Sprint Race.
Emailed Pen-Pal from back home, lurking Trifuel and posting now.
That was 1K meters of non stop swimming...
Ugh! I drank a half gallon of orange juice trying to recover from the flu. I just moved to Colorado Springs last week and I have been sick ever since... Hopefully I'll be able to do something soon and explore all the pretty mountains! I'm a complete flatlander, I have no idea how to bike or run uphill or downhill...
wake up, pray to the porcelon god, thera-flu, tri-fuel, sleep, repeat.
It's yesterday now, but...
30min swim at lunch
Long and slow workday, as usual
8.25mile run after work
Stared at the yard and decided to put off cutting the grass (again)
Watched football and searched the interweb for discount bike parts
Delivered two babies. Ordered hemorrhoid cream...for the moms of course. Ahhh....the life of a midwife. Did P90x Ab ripper.

Welcome to Colorado Springs! I would recommend the Air Force Academy for riding, its got some climbing but not too bad. The Falcon Trail on the Academy is also a great place to run, its about a 14 mile loop if you do the whole thing. Other than that the Santa Fe trail goes on forever and is another great running location (trail is just west of the highway, popular trailheads at Woodman Rd. and just outside the North Gate to the AFA). Many other rides around the area. If you want flat(ter) go east, if you want climbing go west. Have fun exploring.

I am starting a new job on Monday, so I took my last vacation days yesterday and today. I went on a DAY TIME RIDE! OMG I can't remember the last time I rode for 2 hours when everyone else was at work. Next, I'll go to the local "movie grill" and watch a movie and drink some beer. It's not much but I hope it's all I ever wanted on a Friday day off.
I had a 5 mi run @ 7:00/mile. Then cooked a nice dinner (Mexican: pork carnitas with fresh bell peppers, onions, summer squash, mexican rice, and homemade black beans. Delicious) and watched a few episode of Flight of the Conchords, season 2. Then pitched a tent on my balcony and slept outside. A good night.
Hard days hard, easy days easy.
Jumped on the bandwagon and did my first P90X DVD. OUCH. The back and shoulder workout hurt, but felt good after. But the short 15 minute ab workout after made me feel like crying like a baby. I knew I didn't have the strongest core, but OMG!!!
I know, I know. HTFU!
Cheers
The next core challenge is coming up, hipfan.

The Springs! Oh man I miss the Springs...We used to ride laps up Cheyenne Canon (Spanish spelling) Ice climbing in the morning and rock climbing in the afternoon... And just ride everywhere...Lived down at the corner of Boulder and Cascade and ran in the Park everyday...(wistful memories...)

YES -- 5 more weeks! I had an appointment today and saw the pics from the procedure--OMG now I feel no guilt from missing the race. I was beating myself up, but nope no more. Have not see the movie, will go get it.
So, today was the same only I had a second stint getting out of the car and going into the dr so an extra crutch work out. I did go get a "disabled" pass so I don't have to park on the ramp. I did notice coming out of the garage that someone parked their bike in MY spot (where my lock resides) UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Small world. I live on the corner of El Paso and Espanola, right outside the entrance to Patty Jewett Golf Course, about 2 miles from where you once lived. You can't beat the run through the Monument Valley park. I got most of my long runs and brick runs in winding my way through that park. The wife and I love this place, once I'm done with the Army we're coming back here to retire.
And to keep with the thread, I did jack crap today...wait...yep, I just cracked beer #3, I think that worked out my forearm. And now I have another 12 oz (355mL for PoC) of spicy wheat beer goodness to enjoy (Mothership Wit if you're wondering). Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Well I moved here almost on a whim. I graduated from college and had nothing tying me down anywhere... I just kind of picked a spot. I plan to work as an accountant as soon as I can find a job, and you can do that anywhere. If I decide I don't like it or some opportunity comes up, I can move again. No point in moving back with my parents in Rockford, IL...
You guys inspired me, so I put my roadie together and did some exploring. Very slowly because if I started to breathe hard at all, I'd have a coughing fit.. I went and did a Garden of the Gods loop (to preview the running not-race on Sunday where I'll meet some other uccs mba students) and then I did a Centennial-Woodmen-Rockrimmon-Vindicator loop. The 2nd loop was pretty fun - 800 foot climb and then down on pretty good wide roads with some amazing views...
Look for the Garden of the Gods Ten Miler in the spring...just an ass kicker of a road race!
