So proud of my Mom! Her first Triathlon! Sorta RR
Tell your mom I said "way to go." Wish I could get my mom to try a tri!
That which does not kill me makes me faster...
That's fantastic! Maybe i should try to convince my mom to do this next summer... she's 68 and she works out 6 days a week...... she's frightening....
awesome! What a great thing to do with your mom!
Awesome! My first tri was with my my 10 years ago. It scared the H**l out of us and she never went back. I'm trying to tell her we just picked a bad swim...they are not all like that. Took me nine years to start over, but I love every minute of it. I think I'm rubbing off on her somewhat. Congrats to your mom!! She looks so happy.
Good for you and your mom!! that's really great and the 2 of you look so happy and proud in the pic :) My mom insists she can't run- but she is a legend at our gym- everyone tells me I get my will from her.

Jtri - My Mom used to say the same thing. I'm not quite sure what got her to give it a go, but the Couch to 5K program was really great for both of my folks. It's on the cool running website. Anyhow, it's a really a run / walk program. It takes several weeks to work up to an all run.
She does look happy, doesn't she? Very proud of her!
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
That is awsome! The more things you can share the better!

Congrats to your mom and you!
I tried to get my mom to start running and she did run/walk a little but walking was more in her nature :) which is great too

So my Mom & I did Ramblin Rose together as individuals. It's a women's only super sprint, very beginner friendly. We did this last year as a relay - the two of us and my sister. (My sister just had a baby - so no race for her this year).
Anyhow - last year my Mom was really feeling worried about just doing the bike leg (and wasn't considering any sort of running at all). But, since then she's started running (she and my Dad both did Couch to 5K), improved on her biking and she's added in some swimming.
I'm so, so proud of her. She and my Dad have really made a commitment to fitness and they are kicking butt.
This is us below - Mom's first triathlon. Go Mom!
Mom & Me
(As my RR - minor ankle sprain - was a bit tentative on the swim and run. Not my best effort, but was mostly wanting the experience of racing as individuals with my Mom.)
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
