I'm looking for a bike computer that will give cadence, current speed, average speed, etc that is not too expensive--like under 50 bucks. But I don't want one that's so cheap it won't last. Any recommendations? Thanks so much.

I've really liked my cateye computers! However, I sometimes ride early morning and since it's not backlit, I can't see the info.

1+ Very happy with my Cateye Strada Cadence. It has a rear-mounted speed (and cadence sensor), so it will work on the trainer as well.

My Cateye Astrale 8 just went out, and I'm replacing it with the Strada. The Astrale was pretty awesome; I think the Strada is the newer version of the Astrale. It's so nice to have cadence! Although, my cadence sensor went out about a year before the speedometer.

I like the Cateye as well:Cateye CC-RD200 Strada Cadence Bicycle Computer

I have also heard other like the Sigma computer:SIGMA BC1606L CADENCE DTS Double Wireless Bicycle Speedometer
Look at reviews and buy what offers more of the options you are looking for. Also, remember you usuallt get what you pay for so don't nickel and dime the price differences. Don'y buy one with options you won't use, but make sure you get what you want. Just my .02. Good luck

Wireless vs. wired? Is this worth paying the extra $$ for?

I'd go with either the cat eye or somthing in the blackburn delphi line.

I've had 3 Sigmas 1606L's and they've all failed within 6-8mos. My LBS stopped carrying them and gave me the full $ off on a new brand.

Ya, after three or four drinks, I don't really care about my bike computers or the electrical tape either ;)
