Runner's tattoo
What running accomplishment, in your running career, has meant the most to you?
Get a tat of that races logo and if it's not a race, something that signifies that moment....
"A little nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest men."
+1 to Anton about it being from a meaningful accomplishment or race.
Google search Triathlon/Ironman Tattoos and running tattoos for some pictures.
I do like the ones that wrap around the lower calf/upper ankle area.

Any excuse for ink is a good thing. I've seen stylized runners, in profile, on ankles. Kinda typical. I've seen "26.2" tattoos, I've seen "marathon" in Greek. Here's my m-dot.
i think that anton & gfd are right, i really need it to mean something.
trisooner, that tattoo is sick! a little too big for what i'm looking for right now, but definitely a nice looking one.

I wish I would have thought up this design first. Check out blog section and go to Canadian Triathlete. Click on 2007 blogs to see his IM tat. Cool design. I tried to post the link but couldn't get it to work.

How about a tat of wings on your feet like the greek god hermes (god of athletes). Or maybe hermes staff (if you are in the US this may be mistaken for a medical symbol). I'm pretty sure wings on your feet would make you run faster.

Personally I think if you can't come up with something on your own that means enough, maybe it isn't time. Because yeah, a winged foot...that's never been done before.
are you seriously asking other people's advice what to put on your body?
i have several, but never, ever should you ask others! it is the law! (unwritten, but a law)
good luck, i know it's not an easy choice! however, it is a choice you have to make yourself - otherwise you will regret it.

That's hilarious! I've got nothing against tat's, but that's just funny.

How about the "wings of Mercury?"
But you'd have to have both ankles done,
oh, and run really, really, fast!

where do these people COME from?!
What people?
(j/k I saw the spam post too before our benevolent leader took it down.)
I have two endurance tats. An m-dot on my arm and a much more personal endurance tree with all my race distances on my leg. When I get home and am not on my blackberry ill upload pics.
"If it takes a level in insanity to run 26.2 miles, what does it take to go farther?"
Sorry I would have posted this a lot sooner but had trouble finding a good one.
Since I have got the tattoo I have had 140.6 and 50 miles added to it.
Find something personal for you and go from there. Mine is an african symbol for endurance.

Kevin - personal ones are so interesting looking. But what will you do when you run a 50miler or 100miler or longer??? ;)

I've done a 50, I'm using it at the top as a focal point. And I left space for the 100. I have no idea where the 135 for badwater will go thought :)

So i'm in the market for a tattoo. The most logical one to get should be related to what i dedicate my life to, what i love to do. I already decided that it is going to be relatively small, on my lower left calf. I obviously love triathlons, but at the same time i'm a runner at heart. should i get a triathlon tattoo that somewhat wraps around my lower calve? also, if i were to get it, what should it be of? If people think i should get a runner tattoo instead, any ideas? pictures/descriptions are appreciated.
