I've been doing a local tri training group and we had a swim clinic today. It was really invaluable to have the critique on my form and work on specific drills.
Because I'm a sprint distance person and because swim is my strongest area (or, in truth, my least weak) I'd always put swimming kind of low on the priority list in that I figured I couldn't see that much benefit at that distance, plus I needed so much more help on the bike and run, etc.
But I think that may have been rather short sighted. I think I can both improve my time and increase my efficiency so I'll conserve more energy for the bike and run.
I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir for the stronger swimmers, but if you are on the fence it is really worth it to get with a coach. I'm anxious to get out the stop watch to check my time vs. perceived exertion. I suspect both will be lower.
