I'm running in my first half marathon tomorrow. Temperatures at race time are expected to be ~45-50. I was thinking of wearing shorts and a t-shirt with a throw-away sweatshirt over the top, perhaps some old socks on my hands with the intention of throwing them on the side of the road when I warm up.

What do y'all do? I never run outside when it's that cold. I was really expecting it to be warmer tomorrow.

That's not that cold perfect race temp for 1/2 and full marathon! You will warm up fast so just stick w/ the shorts and short sleeve wick shirt. Good luck!:)

Perfect conditions! Too, everyone is different when it comes to cold tolerance. As is usual If you are dressed at the start and you feel comfortable, you're over dressed. If you feel a bit cool or cold even you'll be fine.
Shorts, short sleeve tech shirt or singlet and a toss away for while you're waiting around for the gun. Big plastic bag works fine too as a toss away and also provides privacy if one has to pee!

Thanks for the advice. I'm just a bit nervous. I knew I'd get some great tips here. I'm going to have to try the plastic bag some time when I'm feeling more comfortable. I had intended on buying some stuff at a thrift store yesterday but just didn't get to it.

Thanks again.
