Thoughts on Aero Helmets and Compression Socks
aero helments can / tend to be hotter since there aren't many air vents. something to think about if doing an IM race in a hot location.
1 - Rudy Project, local bike shop or any online tri store. recommend trying them on first before buying online, they all seem to fit different.
2 - Before and after but not during. I have a pair that I bought in Europe, German brand. Not sure if this is advantage thing or not.

I actually find my aero helmet isn't any warmer than my other helmet. I can't pour water on my head with it on, but I didn't tend to do that in hot races anyways. I raced IM Louisville with it, and the husband also did Kona in one, and neither of us had it cause extra heat issues -- in fact I forgot it was a different helmet.
We use the LG Rocket and like it just fine. However, it works with our positioning. Different aero helmets seem to work with different body positions on the bike. For example, with the Rocket the tail just touches my back when I ride normally, so I don't feel I have to change my head position for it -- not all people found that to be the case with that helmet.

This is a two part question; I am doing an Ironman in 09 and want any advatange I can get.
(1) What brand aero helmets do you wear and where can I buy them?
(2) How many people here wear compression sock during their IM? If so what brand and where can I buy them?
Thanks
