I am in for 2009. I live in Louisville so I feel its only appropriate that IM Louisville is my first 140.6. Are there any TriFulers in louisville who would want to get together for weekly training rides?

I'm in for Louisville 2009 as well, will be my first IM after six years of Tri racing, pretty exciting. Slightly concerned about the heat, but nonetheless should be fun. Also doing China Ironman 70.3 earlier in the year, big year in '09

I am in for IMKY. First IM ever, i figure might as well start at the top. I just don't want to grow any extra appendages from swimming in the Ohio river :).

Jonnyboy, do you know if the bike course is really as hilly as people have said?

I'm in! My first IM. For those that live in Louisville, where do you recommend staying on the cheap? I'd rather not spend more than $100 a night! Can't wait! hear it's a really tough course w/ tough conditions!

You'll probably start with 2,000+/-.

Here is the elevation profile from my Garmin from the course in 2007. I didn't find it really hilly -- more rolly. But that will depend on where you are from and what you think of as hilly :)

I LOVED that race! Have fun!

Thanks for the elevation chart. The last 20 looks like it should be some nice downhills to the finish. I guess training in Madison, WI with rolling hills I should be ok.

I'll be there....as a volunteer. I figure it's my right of passage to be able to sign up to do it in 2010. I don't live in Louisville any more, but I grew up there and my family's there. GL with your training

Good luck and lets hope you don't get the heat they got this year.

Haha... for that race it's probably smarter to train for the heat and humidity than to hope... that's what you get for picking a race in Aug in Louisville! :) But if you train for it, you will be fine.

I'm in, too. Number three for me. Hopefully, the third time is a charm and I'll have two good knees for the race.
