A few folks pm'd me and said I should post this here, so I will...If it helps to raise awareness, cool.
My 24 Hour biking event was canceled last weekend due to the tropical storm...so I rode at home...on the trainer.
Details are at the blog below. You'll find some pics, then text of the fun in the post below that.

What's the saying, that 2 hours on the trainer counts as 3 on the road? Time seems to slow down and there is no coasting on a trainer.

By that reckoning, you went about 33 road-hours.

That is awe-inspiring.

Great write-up and pics, Anton.

Inspiration Anton. You must have had some great reflection time on things cause it's times like those that let one contemplate things about life. The way you wrote it, it sounds like fun, but we all know.... Awesome job and you're likely are the only one that did the ride! Hat off to you sir!

On second thought Anton, it is not as impressive as if you would have jumped off the bike and caught the that squirrel when you saw it and had it as a meal Now THAT would be impressive! :-P

yeah...separating 90% of the shot out of the meat is essential...you still want a few pellets to give the meat a smoky flavor

See, what Anton did that night was awesome and we all agree that it was a hell of an accomplishment but if he would have run after that quirrel (as a transition kinda thing), and caught it. Wow! Now that would have been something to write about! In fact, his better half could have gone to get some condiments for it. See eating one raw is no good it's all in the kind of sauce one uses, like bulls eye sauce and alike. Beads, if ya stew one in kapusta....well, I need not say more.

Tri-ac, I am surprised you are a squirrel snob.

I have to say the trainer kicks my a$$. I have been on it for a few days cause I can't go out and about w/ my little brood too much (still no power, still no school) so in the back yard 20-30 miles seems to take FOREVER- then I think about this post- I can't complain; and we haven't had the need to cook up any squirrel yet, but if we get desperate I'll be sure to season it right

The Key to good squirrel? Marinate! A nice red wine or vinegarette works well. I've heard that a cranberry marinade is awesome!
+1 on getting out all the shot.
Just for the record, I grew up in hunting culture in Western Maryland but no longer hunt.I DO however have a brother in law that slides all sorts of game my way.

My coach thought i was tuff when i did 4 hours on my trainer one morning. I have my trainer set
up so i can just lean back and get ice and water from the fridge door. I also set my weights on
the table next to me so i can get in a good upper body w.o. also. I grew up in alex,va. up your
way. I now live in clinton,sc and we have a guy that actually comes to our house to shoot our
squirrels (against my wishes!Im a animal lover) Yes he eats them!Yuck! You are one tuff man by
the way.I am 43yrs young and i have alot to do to catch up to you!
