fay will not deter me from doing my 1st brick.

leave the lightning rod at home. everything else should be fine. most bike bags have some type of water protection, so your gear should be good. as for shoes, lace up the new ones and give them a good beating. if you would race with it in the rain, train with it in the rain.

what about the computer?

the Computer is fine in the rain. have fun with the brick. remember the goal is to get used to the transition and the feeling.
Finishing the race is the only thing that validates the cause.

okay, thanks for the input guys!

i'm going to do my brick tomorrow because frankly, unless its lightning, i'm not afraid of a lil girly TS. My question is, what would be stuff i'd need to take off my bike? I've got my pack w/ my spare tube, multitool, and patch kit, my computer, which i believe is a specialized, dunno the model # and i'll be strapping on my lights tomorrow. and i got some new running shoes today, should i wait till dry weather to wear them and wear my older ones, which are still very much runnable? i'm not really sure what water will mess up...
