So, as to avoid a thread jack, and because of requests, I figured I'd post about our new baby.

My wife gave birth to our first child on July 15, and he's the cutest thing ever. He was 7 pounds 7 ounces (not quite as chunky as his father), and 20 inches long. It was a pretty routine delivery, and she only had to push for about 25 minutes.

His name is Alexander, and here he is.

What kind of bike is that? Looks like it's made of some organic material.

Beat me to it. So have you picked out the Italian Ti/carbon blend tricycle with full carbon disk training wheels?

Congrats on your new baby. You and you wife especially were lucky, my wife was in labor for 57 hours and then ended up with a c-section.

Oh man. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I can't imagine how horrible that must have been.

The worst part, for me at least, was trying to sleep on those pull out chair/beds things. My wife was induced on Thursday night and our first son was born on Sunday afternoon and she says thats it, one and done. So she didn't have very much fun and we will see if there are any more in the future. When it is all said and done it is a blast and you really don't mind having to get up at night. I'm sure everyone already told you it goes by quick, mine is already 1 1/2 yrs old and he changes everyday. Are you still going to train or put in on hold for a while? I tried to train through but it was real tough and ended up taking 2 months off. If you do train just do what you can and it will all work out. Good luck.

I have my big race of the year coming up in a week, so I have to train a little bit. But I'm not really stressing about it too much. I really tried to get a good time at me earlier race, but I'm just going for finishing with this one. The main thing is that I don't want to gain back any of the weight I've lost, so we'll see how that goes.

Thanks for everyone's congratulations. And, as Kylie said, you'll probably start seeing a lot more posts from me in the middle of the night.

Ok...advice my mother gave me (she had 7) when I had my first...

1) You can't hold your baby enough. It won't spoil them and one day they get to big to hold.
2) Sometimes they cry for no reason. It won't kill them. They'll be ok.
3) No matter how bad a day you have, go watch your baby sleep. You'll do it all again the next day. (This works still and mine are 10 & 12)

Good luck!!
