Nice! Great race and great numbers. I would love to go that fast at the top of my game. Good luck with the foot. Hopefully the vitamin I will do its job.

Great Job.

I cant honestly say that I went into this race with no HUGE expectations. Due to an injury that occured back in April I havent been able to run since mid-end of that month. Since then Ive recorded 7 (yes 7, not 70 or any other great number) miles of run training (which I dont think really counts as training.) It was a short course so the swim I wanted to use as a good 'sighting' workout. There bike course was 12 miles (11 by my computer) and a 5K. I wasnt worried about the first two and normally a 5K is nothing to be worried about but I didnt want to have to restart the PT Id been doing since April and not be able to race this year due to a flair up, so I was a little nervous of the run, not the distance. Ok enough with the boring stuff....
Swim: (400 yds, two turns)
I couldnt of asked for a better swim. I got touched only twice, once by a guy who was swimming a little crooked and then he was never seen again, and the other by someone who stroked into my ankle, then he was gone as well. I nailed both bouys right on the head (goal accomplished). Came out of the water in 6:15
Swim Time: 6:15 2/15 AG
T1: Transition was about 300 yards from the beach, 200 of that was uphill in the sand, so that sucked!!
Time: 2:45 2/15 AG
Bike: (12 miles, some rollers, lots of flats, lots of turns)
Three cheers for my first attempted in competition and first successful flying mount!!! I got into a pretty good rythem right away and worked to keep my cadence in the high 90's today. There was one good climb about a half mile in and I was able to crush it and get back into my rythem without my HR getting all crazy on me. I played cat and mouse with a couple guys that just didnt get the hint that I was faster then them (haha) and I finally lost them over the return trip back throwing down 27mph for the return 4.5 miles. Feet out, off to the races of T2...
Time: 31:35 1/15 AG!!!!
T2: No snacking here, :39 2/15
Run: 5K
As stated before I have had no run training at all (seven miles over 2.5 months doesnt count guys) and I wasnt scared of the distance I was scared the condition of my foot would go sideways and Id be back at square one. Came out of T2 with a guy and just stuck a step behind him (yes Im that guy) until I could get some time in and feel the foot out. It overall was a great run course till the last 300 yards is in the sand on the beach, it felt like I was running as fast as I could and the finish wasnt getting any closer!!! Finished strong.....
Time: 22:02 7:05.51 splits 5/15 AG
I finished 3rd in my AG (25-29M) and 44th out of 387 finishers. Ill take it, cant complain whatsoever. Things went my way as well as they could have and I was able to take home an AG spot in the process. The foots still in one piece, well see what happens tomorrow.
