Well ladies and gentlemen, I am less than 24 hours away from finally being able to declare myself one of you. any last minute words of encouragement or advice that you can impart on a humble beginner?

Woo! I can't wait! I feel ready, healthy and excited for this!

Consider writing a list of things you wish you'd have done differently shortly after the race.
Stuff like, put leatherman tool in transition bag, extra towel.. rack bike differently...

Have a great race!

Kylie - I think your advice will be the easiest to follow! I'll be the exhausted one in the pictures with a two foot smile and a sore knee (still getting over an ITBS flare-up).

I have two more sprints in early fall so I have a few months to really fine tune my performance in the bike and swim. Like most (it seems) triathletes I'm coming from a running background. I'm doing my first Ultra in July up a mountain in Vermont I can't wait! But I'm really going to have to tone down my running training and maybe do pool-runs because I need my ITB to be to shape.

Hmm, the post race "things to do better" list sounds like great advice. I saw someone advised bringing along a little head lamp for set up, that's great! I never would have thought of that ahead of time.

Again- thank you all so much. I know I'm going into this green but I would have been helpless without you.

Don't go out to hard in the swim ..... like I do.

Enjoy it.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.- Paul
