I did my first duathlon this past weekend and it was a lot of fun. It got me to question my bike size looking at other people and how high their seats were. I bought a road bike last winter before I decided I wanted to do triathlons. This is me on the bike this weekend. I got an amazing deal on the bike so if I was to sell it I could sale it at the same price I paid for it and no loose any cash. Just not sure where to go from there. Any advice ?

Thanks

It's pretty tough to tell from this angle. It doesn't look bad but a profile shot with your foot at the 6 position would be better.

It "looks" right. Does it feel right? Don't compare your set-up to other riders. I'd love to ride a really drastic aero position, hacked-off fork tube, narrow arm pads, etc. but that would kill me even on a shorty time trial. So I have a more upright position like you do. But as tslcyc said, other photos would be better.

You look ok in the picture. Don't try to base your fit off of other people and their bikes. There are a lot of people out there that don't have their bike fit properly. I went to a local race a while ago just to watch and I could not believe the number of people whose bike fit was no where close to what it should have been, just from a visual standpoint. If you are worried about it, I would say to take it and get it fit from a professional.

I have to agree with all the above. Too me its looks ok, but most importantly is to make sure you feel strong and comfortable on it. Iron Dan hit it, most people just buy a bike and start riding so dont compare. And as TriSooner said, most people ride with their elbows on the front tire and some ride straight up. Id say get fitted and you may find your right on or they may be able to make some small changes that just make it that much better for you. Good luck!

Thank for all the input... I will try to take a few side pictures tomorrow and post them. Today was a night off after the race ! I earned it.

I tried to look at a few places for fitting but not to many of them are knowledgable about triathlon position.

You are riding aero on a roadie- you will never have the lowest position. Dont compare apples and oranges with your bike and a tri bike. There is a HUGE difference in geometry.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
