Weird new rule for Boise 70.3
Oh man, that's awesome. Especially the chinstrap part. It definitely paints a funny picture.
Plus, you could hope that no one notices the typo, and run with your helmet on, and then get everyone else DQ'ed after the race.

Haha. That would stink!
Nobody would have to worry about helmet hair until after the race.

You are on to something here.
Step 1. Wear your helmet.
Step 2. Finish last, if you like.
Step 3. File a petition to DQ everyone who didn't wear a helmet and refer to the above stated rule.
Step 4. Qualify for the 70.3 championship as the overall winner.
And BTW, you know there are people out there who would run out and buy an 'aero running helmet' is one existed. PT Barnum would be proud.
Actually, that would just be a re wording and possibly a slight tweaking of a rule that been around a long while- put your helmet on before taking your bike off the rack and keep it on till you rack it. Thats been a rule at every race ive ever done with a DQ as the penalty.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
PLEEEEEEEEASE wear your helmet for the entire run. I cannot imagine any better way to handle this situation than to follow the rule to the letter. And send pictures.
You guys are freakin' killin' me!!!! I appreciate the comic relief to end a long training evening! I almost wet myself after chunky's post. Please wear that sucker, you will no doubt be the talk of the event and even more as soon as pics spread around the sites!! Instant classic!!!
A new helmet rule?
Naw, that would only increase the high-sticking penalties.

We could try that at IMC, then only Canadians could win.
Wait, we already do. :D
(except for tribro jr. of course)

A typo in the Athletes Guide for Boise 70.3 really made me laugh. This was under the run section rules for the race, they also had the intended rule correctly written under the bike section for the race, so maybe it wasn't a typo after all and they are testing out a new rule because of the risk of falling over due to leg fatigue and exhaustion. I guess I'll have to get my long run this weekend in with my aero helmet just for practice.
"A CPSC-approved helmet is required during the entire run including in and out of the transition areas. Any athlete competing without an approved helmet or chinstrap not fastened will be disqualified."
