So I'm on the hunt for a new bike and I think (keyword: think) I may have narrowed it down to 2 choices. The only problem is that the LBS here is out of stock on the P2C until May and I am running the Florida Half IM on May 18th. I really don't like the idea of buying a bike I have never test ridden, but if the P2c is the better bike it may be what I end up doing. I am going to test ride the Caliente this week, so we'll see how that goes. I haven't seen really anything on the internet comparing these 2 bikes and I was hoping someone here would have words of wisdom. Oh, and I'm always open to suggestions that aren't the two bikes listed. Thanks!

Well, I haven't ridden the Caliente, but my buddy has the P2c, and I think it's super sweet... It's one of the most popular entry-level Tri-bikes for a reason.

First of all, it looks way cooler than the Caliente. What more reason do you need? To me the Cervelos look fast (and as we all know, looks can affect speed by at least 2-3mph). The Caliente just looks like some makeshift contraption from the 80's. All it needs is a 650c in the front, and a 700c in the back, and you've got one heck of a retro looking bike.

Personally, I'd try to get my hands on the Cervelo if I was going to be spending money on it.... Try to find another vendor in the area that has it. Or, if you know what size you need, then order it online.

The P2C is the best bang for the buck. It's essentially the same frame as the P3C except the P3C is lighter. If I were in the market, that's the bike I'd be buying.

The P2C is pretty sweet, but that time frame sucks. Any chance you could find one elsewhere, or get the shop to do a special order?

Nope. Apparently Cervelo is way below quota on their shipments (per All3sports). So it looks like I can either order it from someone else and hope that its the bike for me, or go with something else. My LBS did get an order of the Orbea Oras in a couple of days ago. Does anyone have any experience with the Ora?

I purchased a P2C two weeks ago from a local shop in Vegas. They still have some inventory as well so I'd recommend looking for one from a different shop. The P2C is an amazing ride and you won't be disappointed.

I have recently purchased a 2008 Orbea Ora; I moved up from a Litespeed, and I'm extremely happy with it. It is comfortable on long rides and I seemed to have picked up my pace a little. Another bike you really should consider is the Kuota; I came very close to buying one and they have some very aggressive pricing and they certainly put together a sweet looking bike. I'm also signed up for the Florida HIM in May, so hopefully I'll see you there with some new wheels. If you live in Florida and want a trip to Jacksonville, there is a great shop get get you an Orbea or Kuota. Just PM me, thanks.

I think I'm going with the Orbea Ora. This fit was great and I'm getting one hell of a deal (SRAM FORCE and Flashpoint 60s for under $3,200). SJBOYNE, good luck at Disney and I'll see you there.

You know you're a triathlete when....

I read this post about 5 times trying to figure out the difference between the "time frame" and the regular P2C frame!
