And we're off!
Can you count the Wii as cross training?
WII Boxing? heck yeah! definitely a workout
what I'm up to:

You are stronger than me. I am waiting until after the holiday season to start my official 2008 campaign. Until then I am eating too much food and not working out enough.
+5 on the Wii. I played 36 holes on Tiger Woods last night with a neighbor. Needless to say, I'm pretty sore today. Luckily I had plenty of water and nutrition throughout, otherwise who knows where I'd be right now.

I need to add a Wii to my Christmas list. Doubt I get it with all the workout stuff I have on my list already. 2 days ago I crossed the CycleOps off my list and just bought one, so maybe that will help!
If the Wii would just come out with a Wii triathlon game, we could make training so much more fun.
I didn't get much more than a month off after IMoo.
Started a run-focused training bloc from Oct-Feb culminating with the VA Beach Shamrock Marathon over St Patrick's day. Still doing 2-3 rides and 2 swims a week, but the run has gone up significantly from what I was doing pre-IMoo.
Last week was 41 miles. This week is 43 and so on. The goal of having a spring marathon is a nice 'breakup' so that I'm not just focusing on triathlon all winter, plus it will help my main weakness, running. Plus it's cool to see that running more really does work! Last Sunday was a 15.5 mile run at a sub 8 minute/mile pace that felt easy and was in zone 1 for 95% of the time. I'm currently running longer and faster than any run I had leading up to IMoo yet it seems to get easier.

Living in Houston, we have some early races in '08. My first being before the end of March so I'm already a month into training. I will admit I was jonesing for some focused training after doing just random workouts for 5 months and taking May and later off from racing in '07 after my son was born. Completely worth it, but sometimes you just need the endorphin fix that only a good long ride can deliver.

Training gives me the motivation to behave. If I was just winging through the off season, I would be a bit more of a slacker.. like I have been the last few weeks!
The Wii is tough! I'm still feeling my right shoulder today, it even hurts to put my Jeep in 5th gear!
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
The emegency rooms are going to be filled this holiday season with a rash of Wii related injuries.
And then the lines at Best Buy will be filled; not with people buying new Wii's, but with people buying replacement TV's as a result of their Wii related accidents. If you haven't seen pictures of what a Wii controlled can do to a TV, do a quick google search, it's a trip.

+1 on the emergency room and the Best Buy (check out www.wiihaveaproblem.com). I just wrote the same Best Buy comment and everything, but read yours right before I posted. I hate it when that happens.

Isn't that what Computrainer is for?
Great start to the training triguy.
I've began base building the week after IMC
I've been doing 200km ave per week on the bike
and with Kylie's October challenge - 50k running weekly
lately the roads have become clogged with snow and slush but I rode 37km last night to get home about 9:45pm, ran 10k yesterday,
and rode in this morning too - 25k
keep up the good work.

Geez, PoC, not much of one for down time, are ya?!
I love this sport, but I need some R & R. And the resumption of training feels good. Today was a Z1 transition run/ brick. That went excedingly well. I'm very happy as of tonight. We'll see how happy I am on the ride tomorrow ;)

It's so hard seeing you all talking about off season!
Over here in Oz we've got a 5 week break over christmas.. and then it's back in to the second half of the season!! About 6 more races to go...
False start- on the offense-
Alcatraz gives me two more weeks till Base, but a better prep!

Wii does have Mario v Sonic - Olympiad or something like that and I am told there is swimming. I will let you know after my boys open the present tomorrow morning and I, er, they play it!
Merry Christmas fellow Trifuelers!

Well, today marks Day1 of the 2008 training season!
Nice easy "long" run this morning and I will be in the pool for a little bit later. Dang Wii party on Sat. night still has my shoulders sore, tho! That's what I get for being the reigning boxing champ!
Right now, I am still excited about all the possibilities this season has in store!
