The mission of the Memphis in May Festival is to unite the city and involve its citizens in a cultural exchange and celebration with an honored foreign nation. Right smack dab in the middle they hold a HUGE triathlon (Chris McCormack was the overall winner last year) and the Memphis in May Triathlon is encompassed by the festival. A standard Olympic distance is the choice and the course offers a great challange and an awesome way to start the season!
